While Ellicottville, NY is mostly known for being a quaint ski village or the ‘Aspen of the East’, many also know Ellicottville for its character (not to mention slew of characters.) Unfortunately, our community lost an irreplaceable chunk of that character, with the passing of Eddie Szpaicher in January of this year. Known, loved and respected by countless, Eddie left some impossibly large shoes to fill. As a tribute to ‘Big Eddie’, his friends and family have assembled to present the 1st Annual Eddie Szpaicher Golf Classic, taking place Wednesday, July 18, 2012 on the Double Black Diamond Golf Course at Holiday Valley.
The early spring weather experienced this year allowed many of the golf courses in the area to open well ahead of schedule. Holiday Valley Resort’s Double Black Diamond (Ellicottville, NY) is one of those courses. Their newly constructed Sky High Adventure Park also reaped the benefits of an early spring.
